Renovation and rebranding of a stunning riverside hotel nestled on the banks of the River Guadiaro in the Serenia de Ronda.
This is an exciting new renovation project being undertaken in conjunction with Marbella based event planning company BEvents. Formally known as Hotel El Gecko, the owners have brought in BEvents to renovate and rebrand the hotel.
The hotel sits on the bank of the Rio Guadiaro in the small but charming town of Cañada del Real Tesoro, just 15mins drive from the popular Gaucín and 40mins from Ronda. The hotel has 8 bedrooms in total; 5 in the main building and 3 'river rooms' which are accessed via individual bridges over the original (and still in use) village irrigation channel.
Renovation
Whilst structurally sound the building and interiors are tired and dated, and need updating a bringing into the 21st Century to meet the needs and desires of the modern traveler.
Externally, the building will be completely cleaned and repainted along with the windows and balcony railings. The two main timber entrance doors have finally succumbed to the elements over the last 50 years and are being refurbished / replaced by a local specialist carpenter. Finally, new signage and painted features will complete the updated look!
Inside, the current terracotta and yellow painted walls, oversized furniture and mismatched finishes make the rooms seem small, dark and dated. Here, is were the big transformation will take place! The whole interior will be redecorated throughout in a contemporary 'Boho Chic' style with white painted walls, new furniture and luxury fabrics. Here's a sneak preview of one of the newly transformed bedrooms...
Rebranding
Whilst the design transformation is taking place, BEvents will be busy rebranding the former hotel into its new guise as 'Casa del Rio - Boho Chic Retreat'. As 'Casa Rural' offering B&B stays, private hire of the whole building (family holidays, yoga retreats...) and as an event venue for weddings, celebrations, etc.
Casa del Rio - Boho Chic Retreat is due to be completed and open to the public on 4th December 2020!
